If someone advises you to \u201ccontact the parquet g\u00e9n\u00e9ral of the court of appeal\u201d \u2014 that information is outdated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a French apostille?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The French <strong>apostille<\/strong> is a <strong>stamp of a prescribed form, whose content and purpose are defined by the <a href=\"https:\/\/apostille.expert\/en\/hague-convention-of-1961\/\">Hague Convention of 1961<\/a><\/strong>. It certifies the authenticity of the signature, the capacity of the signatory, and the seal of the issuing authority \u2014 but not the content of the document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>France is a <strong>founding member<\/strong> of the apostille system: its ratification (25 November 1964) was the third and launched the Convention.
