Validity of Documents<\/p>\n<p>1. Documents that have been issued or certified on the territory of one of the Contracting Parties by a competent institution or a person specially authorized thereto, within their competence and in the prescribed form, and affixed with an official seal, shall be accepted on the territories of all other Contracting Parties without any special certification.<\/p>\n<p>2. Documents that are considered as official documents on the territory of one of the Contracting Parties shall enjoy the evidentiary force of official documents on the territories of the other Contracting Parties.<\/p>\n<p>Article 13. Transmission of Civil Status Documents and Other Documents<br \/>\n1. The Contracting Parties undertake to transmit to each other, upon request, without translation and free of charge, documents concerning the registration of civil status acts directly through the civil registry offices of the Contracting Parties, with notification to citizens of the transmission of documents.<\/p>\n<p>2. The Contracting Parties undertake to transmit to each other, upon request, without translation and free of charge, documents on education, employment record, and other documents relating to the personal, property, or non-property rights and interests of citizens of the requested Contracting Party and other persons residing on its territory.<\/p>\n<p>Done in the city of Chisinau on October 7, 2002, in a single authentic copy in the Russian language. The authentic copy shall be kept in the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which shall send a certified copy thereof to each state that has signed this Convention.<\/p>\n<p>Countries that have signed the Convention:<\/p>\n<p>Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Armenia, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Tajikistan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Ukraine.<strong>An apostille is not valid when countries have not signed the Hague Apostille Convention and have not signed a bilateral or multilateral agreement on the abolition of legalisation.<\/strong> For example, until November 2023, this was the case with China.
